Requirements
JOB DESCRIPTION

• Work with various development teams to build and support automated builds, supporting daily continuous integration.
• Develop automated test scripts to be run in a staged environment to smoke test and ensure application stability.
• Building and compiling code of varying complexity using automated and manual efforts to ensure complete and accurate code compilation for release into various critical environments
• Administering and maintaining version control, version control software, code repository and backup files
• Ensures volume of work produced meets standards/goals ensuring service levels are met and exceeding customer standards. The TFS Administrator will report to the Release Manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Build Engineer’s Day-to-Day duties will include:

• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving problems with the build process and ensures the release has been accepted by all parties.
• Coordinating releases with development, operations and testing teams to ensure systems are ready for code to be deployed
• Isolating developers from build process, and branching and merging of source code as needed.
• Attending required release meetings
• Delivering executables and associated files to staging areas for distribution, test and production environments and following up on incomplete or missing files
• Keeping internal tools and data in sync with daily changes
• Auditing configuration controlled artifacts
• Contributing to the maintenance of standard development, stage and test environments
• Communication of successful release to targeted groups.
• Analyzing and recommending corrective action and/or resolving release delivery failures
• Continually seeking methods to enhance and improve upon current processes
• Flexible work hours are required as there is weekend and occasional after hours work required

Education:

College degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline. Other degrees will be considered with appropriate background and experience. Equivalent work experience may be substituted in lieu of education as determined by management on a case by case basis.

Experience:

• Five years software development experience
• In-depth knowledge of Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
• Experience with build automation tools such as MS Build, Team Build, AntHill Pro, CruiseControl, etc.
• Three years experience in Release, Configuration, and Change Management process.
• Understanding of various SDLC programs.
• Understands importance of accuracy and responsiveness with a strong sense of urgency.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to impart knowledge to others.
• Excellent written communication skills are a must.
